The Salman Khan Campaign Posters #KHAAAN!

This man is changing global education, one brilliantly crafted YouTube lesson at a time, by building a free classroom for the world.

Salman got started helping his 7th grader cousin with math and now counts Bill Gates as one of his students, -- Bill calls him "amazing." What is it about all the crudely designed but masterfully taught YouTube videos Khan's produced? Patrick Mylund, whose article on Hacker News was the catalyst for this campaign, sums it up well:

Salman Khan, the principal behind the Khan Academy material, understands something very important that emanates throughout all of his lectures whether they be on calculus, projectile motion, or thermodynamics: There is a difference between knowing the name of something and knowing something. When Sal explains a concept he focuses on why it is what it is, not just what it is. When explaining a mathematical formula he tells you why it is so, and how you can derive the same with some fundamental knowledge, a little intuition, and deductive reasoning.

We're inspired. And we're serious about getting Salman Khan on the TED stage. Inspired by a Khan-love-fest on Hacker News, this campaign started with an idea to get him on TED, but he demands deserve more than just 18 minutes in Long Beach, CA. Now we have a banner for our campaign to spread Khan awareness -- two of them!

Designed by the great Hadley Rouse (@heyhadley) both versions of this iconic Salman Khan poster are FREE to anyone who wants to download the vector art (zipped).

Please spread the word. Not only to get Khan's idea spread from the TED stage (because seriously, they let me speak) but also to raise money and awareness for his not-for-profit, The Khan Academy.

In this vein, we're selling posters and mugs! All profits going to The Khan Academy: a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) with the mission of providing a world-class education to anyone, anywhere.
