r/trees Tee Raises $2000 for Drug Policy Alliance

About two months ago, we decided to start Breadpig Tees, a more sensible way of selling shirts. Inspired by the r/Dogfort Reddit Lobster shirt (which we happily discovered was the work of newly official Breadpig designer licenseplate), we decided to create a system for making high-quality, limited edition shirts that people would really treasure. The limited runs not only make the shirts collectible, they also guarantee that our supply equals our demand exactly so that we don't have to worry about long-term storage for unloved extras.

For the very first test run, licenseplate worked up this amazing design for a shirt for r/trees, a community dear to Breadpig's heart for its friendliness, sense of humor, and plethora of chilled-out animal gifs.

We decided that donated proceeds from the shirt should go towards the Drug Policy Alliance, a forward-thinking and effective organization that works to ensure that the US's drug policies no longer harm and disenfranchise millions of nonviolent people. Though the Breadpig himself isn't sure whether toking works on pigs (Scientists, enlighten us in the comments???), he supports the DPA's efforts to find alternatives to the "War on Drugs" being waged; Breadpig is sad about the ineffective and problematic tactics in the name of prohibition that have led to so much injustice not just in the United States, but around the world.

We are happy to announce that our fundraiser was a success. 456 t-shirts were produced, and today we gave a $2000 donation to the Drug Policy Alliance on r/trees/' behalf. Here's hoping that those funds go towards making the world a safer, fairer place for all of us--Ents and humans alike!
