LOLcats at SF SPCA Thanks to LOLmagnetz

Most people who see this must get so confused...

Before all the success we've had with xkcd: volume 0, there was LOLmagnetz.

A little over a year ago, we published the history of this modern marvel and detailed exactly how we went about inventing them. Specifically, it was my friend, breadpig partner, and legionnaire, S.I. Newhouse IV. Basically, we'd been drinking and he had this idea that I thought seemed feasible enough for us to produce.

Jump ahead to today and the sale of LOLmagnetz (direct, wholesale, and via our friends at ThinkGeek) has generated over $45,000 in profits donated to the San Francisco SPCA. They've already named a shelter kibble kitchen after breadpig.

Now we're getting a new room named after Breadpig in the SF SPCA -- this one is full of kittehs! If you're ever in San Francisco, do consider dropping by, if only to gawk at the adorable felines. And maybe consider taking one home to make it your own personal 24-7 LOLcat.

A big thank you to our friends at the SF SPCA, who should have some fun updates to report here on the breadpig blog in 2011...
