Breadpig is always looking to report on the next great innovation in the world of Rock Band (or am I thinking of Guitar Hero?). When we got word of the ultimate vocalist battlestation, we knew it wouldn't be long before it was getting blogged. Oh, and it gets better. The creator of the ultimate vocalist battlestation, Jeff Atwood, also does custom guitar faceplates. Not real guitars, mind you -- really awesome ones (the plastic-button-kind). The breadpig is going to commission a custom breadpig faceplate for the band to sign and then auction it on eBay. We'll donate all the profits...

Room To Read is a non-profit started by a former Microsoft exec, John Wood (something you can read about in his well-written book, Leaving Microsoft to Change the World). Their goal is straightforward and powerful: We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education empowers people to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries and future generations. Recently, Richard Brownsdon of Japan, started a Facebook Cause to build a school in Cambodia. They're aiming for $10,000 by Christmas and the breadpig wanted to help. It doesn't look like they'll hit that lofty goal...

Well done, breadpig legion! When we reported LOLmagnetz on Amazon, they were ranked a lowly #5966 in all of Amazon.com's Home & Garden category. Now look at what a difference 48 hours can make. I trust we're solidly number one in refrigerator magnets again. Your days of reigning supreme in Home & Garden are numbered, Oster 4207 Electric Wine Opener!

They're sold via ThinkGeek, but having LOLmagnetz on Amazon is still a thrill. When I took that screenshot yesterday, LOLmagnetz were comfortably sitting at the number one spot. Too comfortably. Look at where that hubris has left us 24 hours later. This is a task for the breadpig legions; put the breaded swine back in its rightful place -- let's not settle for #1 of "Refrigerator magnets." At the time of this writing, we're only 5,965 spots from #1 of all Kitchen & Dining. Watch out, Elf on a Shelf. You're going down.

What better way to celebrate a successful partnership than to eat cupcakes shaped like swine? (See, they're made of bread-ish cupcake matter and hence 'breadpigs'). The SF SPCA graciously invited breadpig over for a lunch and a tour. It turns out their headquarters is a short walk from the PigPen (our new BatCave-esque name for breadpig's HQ). After a few great months of project LOLmagnetz (all the profits are going to the SF SPCA) it was time to play with some puppies and snuggle with kittens. It wasn't all business, though.
