Getting Some Love From The Blogging World
Posted by admin on
I couldn't bring myself to say "blogosphere." Entertainment Feed accidentally called us "deadpig" in one of his links (although a good alternative name, it leads to an abandoned blog from 2004). But who am I to complain about a shoutout? They did link to our first single, Hot Coffee, which has been listened to over 1000 times. Wild. breadpig -- 01 Hot Coffee uploaded by kn0thing BrockLi Soup wished he'd "wandered through Chinatown that night." I'm a little disappointed you weren't there either, Brock, because I don't know how much longer we can keep doing free shows on the street....
Broke 40K YouTube Views And Earned A Spot On G4's The Feed

But when do we need to tune in to watch our video on the moving-picture-box? Nonetheless, it was still nice to see our unique sound be appreciated by G4's Stephen Johnson. It's apparently a "Nugget from the Net" which we took to mean something good (?) BreadPig, extra-special Rock Band band goes on tour. Life on the road is tough, man. Indeed it is, Stephen, we gained and lost a front man all in one show. That's the kind of thing that would destroy any other band, but not breadpig.
If MamaPop & BrightestYoungThings Write About Us, Are We A Real Band?

We're still waiting for the Pitchfork review of our album, When Will Then Be Now?, but these write-ups will tide us over. First from MomaPop: Three dudes in Washington DC (holla, homies!) recently decided to take their virtual jamming to the streets of our nation's capital, documenting it all on video to hilarious effect Holla back, MamaPop. And here's some love from BrightestYoungThings: and finally in lieu of our live pick this week (which was going to be black lips, but you can just google that) here is some DC flavor: Breadpig. The Band takes Chinatown. And lives. We are indeed...
DC

We got a lovely writeup on DCist, who was even able to discern what our lead singer was crooning (Isely Brothers, eh?). By now, everyone out there has at least heard of Guitar Hero and its more inclusive cousin, Rock Band, right? You play songs on "instruments" along with a video game, advancing and scoring points for accuracy. After too many hours of playing, sometimes you even fancy yourself to have developed actual musical talent. One group of local guys took their "rock band," breadpig, out of the living room and into Chinatown. They set up their instruments (which, when...
Just Shy Of 12,000 Views On Our Video - Not Too Shabby

Thursday's launch of the breadpig site went about as well as I could have hoped. The YouTube video got some pretty good traction and we already started selling a slew of shirts. We got a few gig requests -- bar mitzvahs even -- that I can safely say were all fake (although fairly amusing). The biggest surprise of the week was getting a link from a friend (thanks, Adam) alerting me to the story on Kotaku. I also got a number of complaints from friends of mine who saw the glaring (intentional) misspellings of Einstein and Galileo on my "bio."...
