Room To Read is a non-profit started by a former Microsoft exec, John Wood (something you can read about in his well-written book, Leaving Microsoft to Change the World). Their goal is straightforward and powerful: We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education empowers people to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries and future generations. Lisa Kawata knows it. And now our band's hometown, Howard County (well, the county our hometown is in), now knows it, too. The breadpig rocks. Our "PR Guru" (not sarcasm-quotes, I'm quoting the following article) Mike Scrivener, scored us an article in the recent issue of Howard Magazine. Way to make HoCo. proud, guys.
