More Breadpig Buzz: ROFLaptop and LOLmagnetz

Nick Gonzalez (former TechCruncher turned startup-guy) recently wrote on the auction and even remembered the first eBay-for-charity auction Steve and I did last July. And I also got sent a LOLmagnetz shoutout by Thomas Nybergh -- he really sums it up well: From the Non-allergenic lolcats dept.: Put last year’s mainstream Internet meme on your fridge… tomorrow! Non-US orders accepted. The breadpig couldn't agree more. Pre-order yours today! Thanks to both Nick and Thomas for spreading the bacon around.

So far, so good. There's already been a solid amount of activity on the auction. Scott Beale (of chuckling cephalopod fame) and AJ Vaynerchuk (who's just awesome and needs no mascot) both gave the ROFLaptop some love in their respective blogs. Much appreciated, gentlemen. Just in case you didn't believe me about getting the Firefox's signature... Adam from LOLCode generously spread the word about the ROFLaptop. Maybe if this auction is big enough, we can convince OLPC to stop shipping with Windows...

The eBay auction expires on May 23rd and 100% of the sale price will go to OLPC. This couldn't have been done without the help of the fantastic hosts of ROFLCon, a collection of great Internet meme-creators who were happy to smear some Sharpie for this project, and of course, breadpig's friends at OLPC. Thanks to all of you and happy bidding! This little laptop has come a long way since the initial announcement. I posted an update along the way after I'd started collecting a few sigs, but the XO laptop is now a geektastic sight to behold. ...
