LOLmagnetz Deemed Worthy Geek Stocking Stuffer
Posted by admin on
LOLmagnetz made someone's Wishroll, though I'm not entirely sure what that means. University of California, Irvine's Louise Lao trumpets Nifty Gifts on a College Budget: ThinkGeek also has some obscure gifts that could entertain your zaniest friends [...] For the ultimate useless present enthusiast, order a box of LOLMagnetz to make captions for your very own “Lolcat,†cat images juxtaposed with humorous statements in broken, Internet slang ($19.99). I can has? Though I would contest that LOLMagnetz are anything but a 'useless present' -- they're actually the ultimate present, so you're kinda right. But you even took the time to...
Someone's Dreaming Of Dreaming Of Androids

Dreaming of Androids is breadpig's most popular shirt to date, but until recently, I'd never come across a blog shoutout for it. That all changed thanks to ordinary-life.net, who added it to the list of his shirts he'll buy when he's got enough cash. Oddly enough, this shirt started with just a sleeping sheep. After learning my original idea for the shirt sucked, the "dreaming of androids" popped in my head, which worked well once the sheep had a plug in its bum. There's no such thing as too much Blade Runner or Philip K. Dick. We're overdue for a...
Howard Magazine Acknowledges Breadpig Band's Unprecedented Level Of Rock

Lisa Kawata knows it. And now our band's hometown, Howard County (well, the county our hometown is in), now knows it, too. The breadpig rocks. Our "PR Guru" (not sarcasm-quotes, I'm quoting the following article) Mike Scrivener, scored us an article in the recent issue of Howard Magazine. Way to make HoCo. proud, guys.
Breadpig Visits SF SPCA, Eats Breadpigs, Spreads LOLmagnetz

What better way to celebrate a successful partnership than to eat cupcakes shaped like swine? (See, they're made of bread-ish cupcake matter and hence 'breadpigs'). The SF SPCA graciously invited breadpig over for a lunch and a tour. It turns out their headquarters is a short walk from the PigPen (our new BatCave-esque name for breadpig's HQ). After a few great months of project LOLmagnetz (all the profits are going to the SF SPCA) it was time to play with some puppies and snuggle with kittens. It wasn't all business, though. We toured their stunning new animal care facility, which...
Breadpig Brings Public LOLart To The Mission, Public LOLart Stolen Within 24 Hours
Posted by admin on
After failing to appear at the LOLart show, breadpig needed to share the gift of LOL. A public art show seemed like just the thing. And there's no better location than the BART stop at 16th and Mission. Or so I thought. The hope was that commuters would admire the existing LOL, but also feel compelled to improve on it. Such is the power of magnetic LOLspeak. LOLs would rise, crime and suffering would plummet, and society would rejoice. This was not the case. Instead of returning every morning to document a new community-generated (as in, the Mission) LOLmasterpiece, I...
